Hoover Limited has changed its name to Haier Smart Home but, more importantly than that – for a smart home website like The Ambient, at least – is that the company has announced that all of its products will be connected by the end of 2025.
Haier already has a bunch of smart tech across the range, powered by the hOn app, but the rebranding is part of a huge push from the company to “become the undisputed leader in the smart home in the UK and Ireland.”
Central to its strategy, alongside the connected washers, dryers and kitchen appliances that you’d expect, is the introduction of the Smart Cube; a connected smart home appliance that promises to revolutionize energy management.
This all-in-one unit integrates an inverter, battery storage, EV charger, and Heat Pump controller, harnessing solar energy to power an entire household’s appliances.
Controlled through the hOn app, users will be able to manage their energy consumption seamlessly while reducing their carbon footprint.
Alongside the new Smart Cube, Haier Smart Home also used a recent London launch event to show off a number of new connected products, including the ID oven Series, featuring advanced IoT AI functionality, and the Haier X11 Washing Machine, equipped with Ultra Fresh Air technology to keep garments fresh for up to 12 hours.
Also revealed was the a Hoover branded smart robo cleaner and a HFX cordless vacuum with Corner Genie technology.
With the push into the smart home markets, we’ll be keen to get in as much of the connected Haier tech as possible for testing, so stay tuned for our reviews in the coming weeks and months.
