Ring’s Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera puts a new 360-degree spin on home security

Ring has announced a new camera, and some new colors

Ring has announced the latest addition to its strong security portfolio with the Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera. While the company is no stranger to a video doorbell (see what we did there), along with indoor and outdoor security cameras, the launch of the Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera marks Ring’s first foray into integrated pan-tilt technology.

The Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera features a motorized pan-tilt base, enabling a 360-degree horizontal pan coverage range, and a 169-degree vertical tilt range. It should allow for more comprehensive monitoring and better flexibility, whether you want to see what your dog is doing on the floor or check if you left a light on.

There’s 1080p HD video resolution video recording, color night vision capabilities, Live View functionality, and Two-Way Talk with noise cancellation. And you’ll of course get real-time motion alerts in the Ring app, as you do with the company’s other products. If you want some privacy, the Ring Pan-Title Indoor Camera has a privacy cover that shuts off video and audio, though you can also adjust settings in the Ring app.

Subscribe to a Ring Protect plan and you get a few extra features too, which will come as no surprise to any Ring fans. The Ring Protect subscription allows you to store and access recordings in the cloud, as well as share video footage and get motion alerts with a picture preview so you know whether it’s worth looking properly or not. Top tip – if there is someone in your home you don’t recognise, it’s probably worth opening the video quickly. The subscription also offers access to the Advanced Pre-Roll feature, which is designed to enrich your monitoring experience with enhanced footage playback options.

In tandem with the release of the Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera, Ring has also introduced three new color options for its Indoor Camera (2nd Gen) in the form of Charcoal, Blush, and Starlight. The new colors are designed to help integrate home security with varying interior design preferences so your indoor camera doesn’t have to stick out like a sore thumb.

The Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera will be available to buy from May 30, 2024 and it will be priced at $79.99/£69.99. The new color variants for the Indoor Camera (2nd Gen) will arrive on July 24, 2024, retailing at $59.99/£49.99.
